Wooden SHOES • The Dutch Clog Museum • Eelde • The NETHERLANDS

Wooden shoes are still made and worn in The Netherlands. Most are made with machines but a small number of craftsmen still cut and scrape and shape blocks of wood into clogs. Most are quite practical but many are works of art.

The most unusual are kept at the International Clog Museum, Klompenmuseum, in Eelde. They have thousands of shoes from countries as exotic as Afghanistan to Japan to France and of course from the Netherlands.
