ABOUT

OXLAEY

I feel that in almost all aspects of daily life, individual people are overlooked. For example, “travel” is often about buildings and museums – not the people and cultures filling these shells with life. That’s why I started OXLAEY, to shine a spotlight on living and breathing people, the human aspects of our world.

OXLAEY is a not-for-profit travel project with a focus on people. Travel is about exploring people and their cultures or how they express themselves through work, religion, music, food and tradition. With videos, pictures and articles, OXLAEY tells stories about the architects, waitresses, painters, fighters and others who make this world so fascinating.

The project operates as a not-for-profit, because the people we portray are priceless. A changing group of volunteers – from musicians, to artists, translators, designers, historians and more – work together to make each story possible. All the multimedia we create are all published with a Creative Commons license. That means you can watch, share and use OXLAEY multimedia for free. Our culture is invaluable.

Our aims are to entertain while documenting cultural heritage, to prove the viability of non-commercial storytelling and to inspire you to take a trip and explore… people!
