Deep underground I see a baby

Deep underground, in the Metro, I noticed a mother carrying her baby close to her front chest in an indian styled harness. It was the first baby I’ve seen in the underground. There aren’t any elevators to the underground stations – so that makes it almost impossible to get a baby carriage in and out with the massive push of people at escalators. It made me think: I very rarely see babies and small children in Kiev’s public places – over and underground.
